Setting up a European hub in Spain

Shaking handsOne of our clients is a multinational beauty products company. They came to us when they wanted to set up a European Hub in Spain as part of a five-year expansion plan. The first issue the company faced was whether to establish a permanent presence, or simply an international sales office.

Utilising our experience of supporting the establishment of companies in both the UK and Spain, we were able to work with them to review their business models and work through different scenarios to allow us to consider all appropriate solutions.   In this particular instance we advised setting up a permanent business presence in Spain.

We managed this process from the initial company formation in Spain, right through to operational success, and whilst the implementation of End2End’s strategy was necessarily time consuming, it proved to be a robust solution which met internal audit conditions and the external conditions laid out by Delloitte and Touche.

As part of the process we helped the company obtain work permits for non-European senior staff members and establish systems to deal with importation conditions and cross border VAT requirements for non-EU countries.

We were also able to assist the company to comply with structural constraints from their own holding company, such as transfer pricing, group audit requirements, and internal control procedures.

We subsequently assisted in rolling out the hub to cover a number of European countries and the company is now trading successfully across Europe.
